Someone needs to find out who Raaaaid's doctor is and tell him he's obviously not taking his pills. . . or taking too many.

no need to be nasty to raid, he is an older poster from some of the other il2 forums and many of the old timers see him for what he is, mostly harmless and with lots of quirky posts. as long as he stays on topic (flightsim and aviation related), no need nasty to him just because he doesnt fit the mold of "mr average".
In moral terms, how well a society cars for its weak and vulnerable is a measure of how civilized it is; so if you dont want to interact with him, just dont post in his threads and dont read them re the falling airman without a parachute, seeing how a body like that behaves in freefall through the air does give some indication on how well/realistically the air/moving-object physics are modeled. so far however, i havnt seen any airmen in freefall to make any observations on

personally i think we should be able to blow parachutist's in half so the lower half of the body drops away, or maybe just a leg, arm or head. That would be good, after all this is a sim

You can't shoot Parachutists in CLoDo. I only tested to see if it was like 1946. One of our unit rules is no shooting parachutists, it stays a rule but kind of redundant now.

I want to be able to shoot him. And run into him. I want to be able to get his chute hung on my wing. I want to see body parts flying every where. Even open the side window and do a couple of fly bys with my Luger in my hand stuck out the window. This is a virtual life. We have the benefit of just respawning.

But that would mean germans are doing the killing, no way, that never happened!
Only the dark side can do such horrible things, or even think about them.

On one hand it is painfully obvious that having "live" shootable pilots would be more realistic, on the other I don`t want it to feature online battles since nothing good comes out of it. There are other consequences of having shootable pilots. Any object a parachutist hits in the air destroys his parachute. And that means if you happen to have the luck of running into a modelled tree, you fall from say 10m and get killed. |
