I've seen senseless parachutists after a free fall collision, they fell as i described it.

The cog lies a bit below the sternum, and the heaviest part of the body is still the rump.

You could shoot down Paras in Lucas Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, circa 1991 or so? Wow, that was at its time a fantastic game!

An unconscious skydiver (usually after hitting another skydiver) will fall in one of two positions. Either faceup, bent over at the waist with arms and legs tariling upward, or facedown, bent backwards slightly, arms spread to the sides and legs bent back.

But if you're asking about somebody not in freefall, but with a deployed canopy suddenly shot full of holes... I don't know. Depending on what kind of damage was done to the canopy, just about any kind of tumbling might be possible.

If you shot a parachutist, wouldn't he just slump in his harness. Even if the parachute did collapse it'ld still keep him in the upright position.

Every so often I get the erge for some model rocketry. Ribbon chutes still stabilise the falling rocket.

It would be very unlikely for the chute to detatch completely, and even if it did you'ld still have the shrouds

raaaid should get an award (gold start) for this one!

Who knew he could 'catch' so many in his net?

Ill bet if raaid posted a thread asking how high is high he would get some to not only post but argue the point!

Nice work raaid!

I get the feeling that he is maybe 10 years off being allowed to drink, let alone smoke illicit substances...

Someone needs to find out who Raaaaid's doctor is and tell him he's obviously not taking his pills. . . or taking too many.

no need to be nasty to raid, he is an older poster from some of the other il2 forums and many of the old timers see him for what he is, mostly harmless and with lots of quirky posts. as long as he stays on topic (flightsim and aviation related), no need nasty to him just because he doesnt fit the mold of "mr average".

In moral terms, how well a society cars for its weak and vulnerable is a measure of how civilized it is; so if you dont want to interact with him, just dont post in his threads and dont read them

re the falling airman without a parachute, seeing how a body like that behaves in freefall through the air does give some indication on how well/realistically the air/moving-object physics are modeled. so far however, i havnt seen any airmen in freefall to make any observations on

personally i think we should be able to blow parachutist's in half so the lower half of the body drops away, or maybe just a leg, arm or head. That would be good, after all this is a sim
