Nothing is ever perfect, releasing an unfinished patch is really not going to help their cause given past events, the performance patch is supposed to address the CTD issue but releasing early could bring other unforseen problems and the crowd here will really go for the throat if that happens.

I have some extra time off this weekend, so I'd rather have some sort of patch.

I prefer the betapatch now (if launchercrashes are fixed)!
Nobody have given us a release date, maybe we must wait another year for the patch, who knows?! Better now then sometime!

I think the results of the poll speaks volumes..

We have waited this long, introducing something else to moan about isn't going to help anyone..

From a personal standpoint..fixing performance isn't and wasn't my big gripe with this game

release when it's done, even if it takes another half a year. I am tired of quick fixes.

I know what you mean here Bewolf, but that is actually quite funny...

Heh, I suppose =)
But let's say it this way, I think one propper patch may solve huge range of issues, while a lot of smaller ones will give the whiners here more ammo for months of complaints just because their own specific individual demands are not met.

My biggest concern with this patch is that the developers thought this "new graphics engine" was a quick fix.
I think they traded a set of bugs for another and lost half a year and a bunch of advanced features in the process.

Maybe everyone would be totally blown away by the doubling of frame rates and happy to get the ctd fix? There are some pretty big pluses already in the bag here.

Also, for the remaining glitches with particles - they are already there now. It's not as if the game will get worse with the patch.

Basically, we get BIG fixes and improvements, along with one thing that is no worse than we're already putting up with now.

For those who can barely run the game now or are annoyed by the ctd issue 6 more months (as some have suggested) is a long time to wait.

<Devil's advocate off>
