Nachtjager-Wouldn't night fighters be cool?

Definately a good choice for Cliffs of Dover ,The Beaufighter in its night fighter role.

With the four 20 mm cannon mounted in the lower fuselage, the nose could accommodate the radar antennas, and the general spaciousness of the fuselage enabled the AI equipment to be fitted easily. Even loaded to 20,000 lb (9,100 kg) the plane was fast enough to catch German bombers."
There were also six 303`s fitted .
The Bf 110-G had radar fitted post Battle of Britain so could be available in BoM.

IIRC there was only one full Nachtjagdgeschwader at the Eastern Front which was NJG 100 starting in September 1943 and before that 10. and 12./NJG 5 flew operations in Russia during January 1943. Both 10. and 12./NJG 5 moved to Bryansk and Orel in June 1943, for Operation Citadel and operated under Luftflotte 6 in the Smolensk-Bryansk area and under Luftflotte 4 in the Poltava-Stalino area before transfered back to Germany in September 1943.

Yup the Beaufighter would be great and it could be used as Nightfighter in almost every future Scenario which may come.
Just a question: was the Beaufighter able to carry out Long distance night fighter missions or was this done by the Mosquito?

The faster Mosquito took over in the night fighter role in mid to late 1942, The Beaufighters were used for anti-shipping, ground attack and long-range attacks on enemy assets .
Costal command equiped them for anti shipping with air to surface radar which was also handy for bad weather and night bombing raids.
Beaus could be equipped with Torpedo, bombs or rockets & proved successful in supressing flack from shipping whilst other aircraft attacked with bombs.
Still looking to see if there is any info on long range night fighter or bomber escort missions but the Mossie may have slotted into this role along with its pathfinder duties.

Well actually what I had in mind was a WSO station you could either jump to or have a buddy take over like we have gunners join up in bombers.
The AI radar operator doesn't appeal to me. Make it realistic.

Night missions with "Command and Control" mod by Checkyersix flying a schrage musik-fighter is total new experience for IL-2 (IMHO!), the best I tried in the last years.

Ok ju88 with guns is good enough, Im in love with the uhu 219 though, now theres some onboard radar

Did someone just mention torpedos, I want those on my 88 too!
