Except the fact that German night fighter pilots never had to use onboard radar. It was the radar operator who did this job and fed pilots with information. Unless the game allows you to play as radar operator and command the pilot where to fly, players would have to do the job of two people at once. I would be happy with system like in modded 1946, where you receive instruction from an imaginary radar operator.

It wouldn't be very hard to implement a radar operator for a Nightfighter scenario i assume. Imaginary radar operator also would be ok.
Interesting scenario indeed, otherwise it would need more planes like the Avro Manchester, Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, Short Stirling, Handley Page Halifax or Handely Page Hampden, the Defiant as Nightfighter and on the German Side not only BF 110 and Ju 88 also a HE 219, DO 217J or DO 217N would be pretty cool.

He 219 v Mosquito NF Mk. 30 would be interesting - so would He 219 v Mosquito IX or XIV 'cept you can't shoot back at the Heinkel.

S!

At end of war Kommando Welter quite effectively shot down Mosquitos with the Me262's. And RAF had no clue what Germans could have that caught the more or less untouchable Mossie. And these missions were flown without radar as Germany was already burning 24/7 so here was enough light to spot the planes. Another interesting feature that could be added later to IL-2 series..

S!

The 110 G4 with "Jazz" is just awesome. Had the pleasure of flying it and down some Halifaxes in the Ruhr bombing SEOW a while back. Whenever I found a bomber (thanks to a good radar operator) and got below it without being noticed, at the moment I should start to line up my shot, my heart would start pounding like it was ready to explode .. Just pure awesome.
