There used to be a WW2 book (by Edward Sims), but it's out of print and second hand copies cost too much.
"Fighter Combat: Tactics and Manoeuvring" by Robert L. Shaw is very good, and gets as technical as anyone other than someone taking a degree in aerodynamics could need. "Air Combat Manoeuvres: The Technique and History of Air Fighting for Flight Simulation" is more basic, and my edition has one mistake, but it does have pretty pictures. Thnaks for the reply Igo kyu,
Im am not so much looking for the best most efficent tatics but the actually tactics they used. I suppose there are no real definate books just on the luftwaffe because they had to adapt and change, however I suspect the main reason is because ariel combat is such a fluid art. I will look into your suggestions, thank you. |
