Roads are in good condition at most parts of Finland, especially the main routes. I would still consider train or plane for traveling..driving at winter speeds limited to 80km/h at most parts makes it VERY slow.

Sodankylä is not that far from where I live, Rovaniemi Been there at the film festivals during summer, quite a lot of people there I hope you enjoy your stay in Finland and get to the museums

Thanks for the infos, would want to make a stop in Rovaniemi too, heard you have a great National Park nearby
