SO just thought I would post my experience, hope it helps some of you!
StkNRdr posted a helpful link above, getting the app working on Android. I happened to have a $99 HP Touchpad and loaded Android CM7 on it. However any android tablet will do. The application works great through VNC, i was surprised how fast it was. you don't need a 2nd monitor to run the application, you can run the application on a seperate windows laptop. Or in my case a linux box running windows in a virtual machine... then using your local network send commands to a server instance that you start on your gaming system. I think the only hurdle is configuring your custom switch panel. after that, it's a neat little application, I positioned the tablet next to my flight system angled upright and was able to set magnetos , fuel cock , and start the engine from my tablet. my hands did stray far from the stick as they do when using the mouse to start the engines! if anyone has questions feel free to PM me. I can offer assistance. |

sfmadmax,
I have a Samsung 8.9 tablet I am working with. I am connecting to my PC via a fast wifi, though USB is possible if supported by VNC. I downloaded the programs and installed them. Was able to get the VNC up and running to control my desktop. Loaded the TB Hurricane profile and was able to turn switches, knobs, etc. from the tablet. I haven't tried it in the game as the control keys are different. Was having a difficult time getting the Hurricane panel sized right on the tablet (1280 X 800). It also seemed sluggish to move around the screen. As a result I am wondering about the resource impact to COD. Thoughts? |
