Indeed the AI not overheating or suffering from overheat is a big one. In 4.11 this will be totally different as the AI will have to open the radiator flaps and back off on the throttle... maybe they will even cook an engine or two.
@Bolelas: I'm fairly certain that the AI enters some sort of scripted routine (if you watch closely you can kind of see it happen) and that it doesn't too closely follow the flight model at that point. Landing is pretty difficult and I suspect the AI just isn't equipped to handle the aircraft in such a manner.
