It's easy..

CloD is a simulator first a video game second.
WoP is a video game first a simulator second.

WoP also serves as a gateway to CloD, so it's all good.

Hey I own WoP myself. If it’s a flight sim I usually buy it anyway just to support it.

Yes you can use TrackIR.
Yes you don't have to have the music playing.
Perhaps that is a bad choice of video.
I have no complaints about WoP.
Everyone has their likes/dislikes.
I would encourage you to buy it you'll love it.

The dark fade-out shading in the cockpit and on the edge of the framing drives me nuts.

Tavignon,

It puzzles me where you found those nice screenshots. Checked on the link you posted but couldn't find them. Anyway, I like them, thanks for posting!

I think the latest pics were from Birds of Steel which would appear to be a console only version of World of Planes. (I could be wrong) Many of the same aircraft are coming out in both versions with birds of steel slated for release before the end of march.(no exact date yet) Im trying to get on the beta tester list for World of Planes before they close it off.

I updated my copy of WOP (huge files - took a long while ) and fired it up. Whatever the glitches with CLoD, it has set a benchmark regards the visual detail and game play that is vastly superior. What struck me was just how dated WOP looks and feels like in comparison.

Full marks to Gaigin for their continual improvement and I wish them all the best with their future titles but, of the WW2 Sims currently available there is only one at present! CloD has a set a benchmark that any future competiting title will have to try and match to be a success.
