thanks for the tips katdogfizzow.
My GPU temps were running in the low 80s which i think is okay for a 460GTX but i thought i could improve them. I tuned the fan settings and drilled some holes in the front of my PC. Oddly front fans were installed with no intake holes. result GPU and cpu running around 10 degs cooler Also disabling the intro video and completely disabling spyware (rather than game mode) has all but stopped the crashing. Even cranked up a few of the graphics settings. Loving the game - beats eveything else out there hands down PS i have the capacity to add another 460 to my setup - not sure whether to get one before they become obsolete or hold out for another card? Any thoughts? |

Just stick with the single 460 for now..sli and crossfire arent working properly right now. I also run the 460gtx but its the 2gig version. with almost identical specs as you Win 7 with 8 gigs of ram. Those gpu temps seem pretty high good thing you were able to bring them down a bit. I run stock cooling, and my gpu temp barely reaches 70c..ussually closer to 65c. Glad to hear you have got it up and running tho S! Blue Skys!
