Publication of small patches through Steam can be inconvenient for the programmers.

Final list your questions №2

1. Are you planning to return a little shake in flight to the game, the type of one that was in earlier versions?

2. Will there be the appearance of a working siren on Ju-87?

3. Are you planning to use the opportunity to play several virtual cameras displayed on separate monitors, as it was in the old "IL-2"?

4. Is there any news about the Su-26?

5. Are you planning to transfer the new graphic effects (eg, weather) future sequels in the "Battle of Britain"?

6. Can you guys give us access to the AI programming functions, to can over-ride/improve them in 3rd party code (dll's)?
This would be a great step forward, as we have many users around here with good programming and flight sim AI development experience in order to start things moving in this direction.

7. Will the dynamic stall be implemented in the Flight Model?

8. Will the maximum altitude of the planes (ceiling) be raised to the historical values of ~10-11000 m? Today it is 7-8000 m for most planes, and much less for the Fiat G.50

9. Will the performances of the poor G.50 be upgraded to be closer to the real historical values? The G.50 maximum speed today is ~350 kmh at sea level against 407 kmh found in books and online references. The G.50 ceiling in game is some 5000 m, against 10500 m found in various sources.

10. Will the UBI intro .wmv video issue be finally corrected? Today it clocks down the ATI cards to 2D-power saving mode, and gives really poor performances to the users that do not delete or rename it. That is most of ATI users I guess.
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28054

11. Will the ghost dots issue be corrected? Today in online servers you see far contacts which disappear when you close in.

12. Will the GUI be optimized? Today it's not practical.

13. Will the track recording be improved? Today the main issues are: need to exit from flight to start recording, need to manually type a track file name, need to exit again from flight to stop the video, frequent crashes in the procedure, frequent crashes when trying to record an avi from a track.

14. Will the damage of a radiator by bullets produce a damage to the engine? Today you get the message "radiator leak" but the engine continues to run.

15. Will the AI crews of bombers be programed to do their jobs? Will navigators navigate. Will bomb aimers guide the aircraft into the bomb run. Will observers report air and surface contacts etc? Or are the current crew statues considered to be adequate?

16. Do you plan on adding bail animations and/or first person bailouts with the ability to look around when in a parachute.

17. Will we see the coop mission in CloD, as it was in the old "IL-2"?

18. Are you planning to create new aircraft for the "Battle of Britain"?

19. Are you planning to assign precise control point of view (zoom) button or axis, as it was in the old "IL-2"?

20. Does Luthier understand how disappointed we will be if the sequels cannot be merged to give core improvements to earlier releases of the series?

Thanks BlackSix for the ongoing communication.

Have to say I think that Q. 20 (merged install) will turn out to be the latest in a long-running series of storm in a teacup, non-issues that blow up here and run for a few weeks before being revealed as complete BS fed by misunderstanding and panic.

There is no 'panic'. The 'misunderstanding' is actually concern based on BlackSix's/Luthier's answer, as recent as the last few days, to the question "will CoD and the sequels be capable of merged installs". Their answer, even today, is "Its too early to tell" meaning they don't know themselves yet. I don't call the question or the current answer BS.

Those of us that have followed IL-2 for years and the early proposals of CoD expect merged installs as a way of older releases benefitting from core improvements. It has become more important given that Luthier has indicated that some aspects of CoD may not be fixed in CoD-specific patches.

I interpreted B6's 'can't tell' answer as being down purely to legalistic information with-holding, ie he isn't specifically authorised yet by Luthier to divulge ANY information about the sequel, rather than the devs not actually knowing themselves.

I'm sure that Luthier said some time ago that future installments would work as BOTH standalone and merged installs. I haven't tried to hunt down that quote though.

i've been wrong on this game before, but if I'm wrong on this I'll eat my shorts (as someone else famously once said...)

Such a situation would take the devs shooting of themselves in the foot to new, previously unimagined heights.

That's why I'm not really concerned. I'd imagine the potential damage to their reputation and the risk of future sales is a vital concern to 1C/MG. We're a small community with a rather vocal following. Why risk it.

Based on 1C's history with IL-2 I would interpret 'stand alone' to mean CoD will remain a stand alone game that people can play.. Just as 'IL-2 pacific fighters' is a stand alone game that people can play.. Even though most have migrated to the latest version of IL-2, i.e. 'IL-2 1946'.

And by 'merged' I would interpret that to mean everything (maps, planes, etc) from CoD will be included into the Russian front version.. Just as 'IL-2 1946' includes everything from 'IL-2 pacific fighters' and more

Hmmm, well I guess there is an element of interpretation of "It's too early for such questions."

One thing's for sure, anyone with IL-2 history and Oleg's early promotion of CoD is expecting it and it won't hurt to ask the question.

this one has been answered before by Luthier i believe.

the siren was a short lived thing apparently and it was removed by the time of BOB. it also cause a speed reduction of 20 or so km/h due to weigt and drag
no sources.

trought that there is the 3d model for it in the game..... should be removed interely.
