What are opinions of best Soundcard and speaker combination?...I'm not a music aficionado. I want best sound for gaming...COD, ROF, COD(the other one)MW3, Battlefield3
Any advice will be appreciated. Last edited by DoolittleRaider; 11-20-2011 at 08:56 PM. |

I'm going to wait . . . with this game improving, and current stuff only getting cheaper its better. Also the talk of the sequel seems to lend itself to waiting . . .

No.
I'm content with things as they are. Maybe when the 7xxx AMD cards come out, I'll be tempted to upgrade the GPU. We'll see. |

No new rig for me, albeit maybe a GTX580 as upgrade.

On-board sound is perfectly fine. The only people that would notice a difference are "music aficionados" with very expensive speakers or headphones. Unless your motherboard is from 1997 you don't have to worry about crappy sound. As for speakers, you need to first determine what you want to pay, then go to a big-box store where they have a lot of models being demoed and give them a listen.
