Default new patch giving me CTD's also

The second beta patch ran pretty well (ie, stable), the latest official patch gives me CTD's every time i play. grrr. Tried all the usual, re-installed the game, reinstalled sound and video drivers. No effect, same crashes. Edit:CTD is result of force quit, as screen freezes in game...

I've got the same problem.

I've tried all of the solutions I could find.
As a last resolve I've deinstalled COD and re installed again.
Latest video drivers are installed all to no avail.
Actually the first version of COD did run with out this problem.
Suggestions i've found pointing to wrong direct x version I've checked and i'm on 11.
Maybe this should be 10?
I've tried full screen and all other possibility’s ( the difference between the two possibility’s of full screen elude me).
So I don’t know I hope some body knows what to do other wise its money down the drain.

you too?

It is beginning to look like that though. I've sent Luthier some crash dumps in the hope for an answer, but right now, I'm leaning more towards turning my G940 into a cyclic and collective as setting the ring button to fire isn't going give me fix..

Default Launcher issues

Hi

I am now getting launcher failures now proberbly 50% of the time I play COD since the latest patch - making this game totally unplayable for me now.

Interestingly, the last couple of times I have had the launch failure either the steam news page is up on the screen as I clear the "launcher failure" window or when I immediatly try to launch COD I sometimes get the message "steam is not responding".

Is the launch issue being caused by Steam!! as none of my other games have any launcher failures, only COD

Any thoughts?

yeah, it's not Steam. Your event viewer will tell you that much.

Default some improvement for me

Sorry to cross-post but I wrote this in another thread, it is no less true here though-

I have been doing several tests, and i seemed to extend my crash-free play by setting compatibility mode to Vista Service Pack 2, even tho i am running Win 7 Pro (64 bit), and I was formerly set to Win 7 Compatibility. This is non-networked standalone, and my own personal experience.

This won't do anything for ppl's online play i am sure...

i dunno, I am grasping at straws.

Default Crashes

Well, I bought another gig of ram, xp only sees three Gs, and i played for an hour today before it crashed.
I have to say i really like this sim. I hope they get this launcher.exe crash fixed. The latest patch has made things worse.
I am thinking of going to windows 7, and adding more ram, but from what im reading here, it seems others are having the same problem with W7 and lots more ram than i have.
Any ideas out there?

3 gig dual core with 3 gigs ram and ati 4600 1 gig vcard.
