Well, so we'll ALWAYS have "stutters", because we ALWAYS will need to load map/textures in some point. Perfect streaming in a flight sim, with fast aircraft movingo over terrain is hard to do without some loading points.

As i always said, we have these "stutters" even in IL-2 1946 in today hardware, and we have in ArmA2 and any other big map title...

Maybe with more RAM usage, really x64 suport...

I think what this poll is telling us is that some people are sensitive to these "stutters" and some people just don't notice them. If I fly at low altitude and focus on nearby trees as they go by I can just perceive that there are the tiniest micro-pauses.

When actually playing the game I notice nothing at all.

I agree - offline. Online is a nightmare. the stutters and pauses are so long I lose control and don't know where I am. Sometimes goes down to 6 fps then freezes altogether, then picks up again then crashes. Usually when I'm shooting the proverbial out of an opponent..

Yes I've tried disabling realtime scanning in AV and it still happened. It didn't happen before this retail patch, but I'm not at all sure if it's not server related. This is on ATAG btw, which is so far my favourite server.

Stutters that I'm refering to is flack smoke juddering past the aircraft, when looking down at terrain to spot enemy aircraft seeing buildings stuttering past even though settings are down. Some of us are getting this while others claim they aren't, so where is the difference??, settings!! or video ram. Are those that claim that they don't have any just looking at dogfighting situations where most action is moving at the same pace. I agree in that situation I don't have any worth mentioning. I have tried most things to overcome the problem that I can think of. These problems aren't so noticeable when up high but try a ground attack where there are trees and buildings even on low settings and they become very noticeable. According to results of the poll so far about 75% of the replies have the problem in some form. If those with video ram in excess of 1gb are getting the problem also where else do you start looking.

Cheers

Rick
