Perfect graphic settings on ATi card?

i have a similiar problem. the perfect mode tab is greyed out. and yes i do have have 32bit color with stencil buffer. unfortunatly if i put hardware shader to = 1 it goes back to = 0 after i run the game.

Did you install the game into the 'program files' or create a separate folder, ie: IL-2 1946 on your 'c' drive?

I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but I've been using the Steam version for quite a while now, since moving to Win 7 64bit. No install tricks, just works.
