I don't think that is the question, we figured out the automation setting within 10 minutes of loading the new patch, I think the big question is why the heck we have radiator automation in the first place.

from what i understand from the e4 to later they have built in engine management system

it was very common for the automation as new German recruits pilots didn't really know how to use prop pitch in combat. manual prop pitch was for the more skilled pilots.

Post your evidence, because the only radiator automation Im aware of is on the F and later, and then only for the intake lip and the top flap at the wings trailing edge, the lower flap was still controlled by the pilot.

No Emil, that Ive ever read about had this sort of automation but I would love to read about one that did.
Until someone posts evidence its just speculation that they had it.

How do you get the best out of the E4 at sea level, on auto pitch i`m seeing around 370kmh, 1500rpm and if I remember correctly 1.4 manifold pressure. Is there a way to get higher speed or is 370kmh about right?

1.32ATA 2300RPM in AUTO should eventually get you around 460KMH at sea level ... depending on where you have your rads.
