From a quick test on the "Black Death" track (at least until it crashes when the bombs go off), I find there is too much contrast. I'm currently watching "Band of Brothers" again, and the high contrast in the game reminds me of the colour effects on that and similar movies like Saving Private Ryan.

Contrast of the inside cockpit is good actually very much like the real thing.. Up there yes you'll get some good contrast.
