You can go to Steam >> Servers >> LAN to see if it is up.

Also try adding it to Favorites in Steam. But it will not appear in Steam Favorites but in game favorites instead.

Cheers for the help chaps, i have the server running now with the beta patch installed and can finally connect to the server running the France mission, now in the cmd file with this will the .cmd file load all the settings becasue after setting the difficulty level to realistic and relaunching the new settings are not being read

i have also created a seperate .cmd file for the difficulty only and it still does not read the new settings :s

Back adain , what info would i need to input to get friendly names only or maybe enemy also showing when close in at say 50m or less ? will the game show player name only even i dont know ?

I think names can not be shown (a bug), only aircraft types, and some other info.
