Everything is on marked "On" or on high. Texture Quality is on "Original", only the Epilepsy Filter and the Anti-Aliasing are off. This map has a good deal to do with the performance too. It seems to do very well. I get around 50 fps until I get very low then it goes down to 30 but not too many stutters at all on the new Steppe map for me. That's why I think the dogfight servers should try this map. It's not tiny like the others are but it's not too big either. It has a big lake with an island and a long river flowing out of the lake.

hey pupo.mh difficult question, as im now fiddling with my settings again since the beta patch.
before the patch, i played with the lowest resolution, no aa,no ssao, vsyinc on,
buildings detail on med, buildings amount on high, textures on med, landshading on low,no shadows, everything else on max....with these indeed low settings, i had steady 40-60fps no matter where, but most of the time 60.only over london at rooftop height i had 40 fps.no stutters at all

no after the patch, with the same settings, the fps stayed pretty much the same, but i decided to experiment with them again.i found that with textures to high and landshading on high, i still got 40fps average, and over london with 12 enemy spits at 100meters steady 30fps...so i decided to enable shadows again.this is indeed a performance hit,but i have less stutters with it enabled since the patch.before the patch,i had massive stutters, and trackir was pretty shaky with shadows.no i have pretty steady 30-40fps over the channel and over land 30 average.oh i forgot to mention, that i now set landdetail to low...since the patch and the added haze, the difference is not that apparent anymore.
ah btw, i play with full screen

oh about the stutters....only minor stutters at the beginning of a mission.i hate them so i prefer to lower my settings and have smooth gameplay instead of eyecandy and a slideshow.

I appretiate your response.

To be fair, i am playing with far better settings than you and my gmae looks much worse. FPS wise it works ok, even with everithing on max i get 25+ FPS, but my problem is stutters.

i will try your settings and see if i get no stutters. Thank you.

EDIT:
Arghhhh . I DONT GET IT. i put your settigns and my fps actually drops to 5...

hey pupo!what you see in the vid,are not my settings when i play the game.i just set everything on max after i recorded the mission, to convert the track into an avi file and have all eyecandy.

i dont know whats the best setting for your rig....i found that many people reported big improvements due certain settings, which had no effect at all for me, or even made it worse.

with what resolution do you play??
