Here's a photo of Luthier and the leader of ROF, Jason Williams, from Jason's trip to Moscow in March of this year. The caption below it is what Jason wrote when he shared that photo in the ROF forums, and I would guess many who posted to this thread agree with his sentiments:

"On a side note, an unexpected opportunity arose when I learned that my long-time friend Ilya Shevchenko from IL-2 was still in Moscow for another night and we could meet up for dinner. I had just arrived and he was on his way back to the States. We live fairly close to each other in California and to get together in Moscow was a surreal experience. It’s weird how life works that way sometimes. We met up and had an interesting conversation about our respective development activities and the evolution of each team. We talked about the weird rivalry between our two products on the forums, the genesis of it and the future of both teams. We respect each other and we believe in friendly competition. We both wish the community would see it the same way and be supportive of both products."

Well, I always had a silent hope that the Rise and the Cliffs communities would eventually merge into one big community. I know it will probably never happen but it's nice to see that the devs of both sims are friends and that Jason himself asked us on RoF forums to support both products.

Stuttering with new RoF patch seems to be getting widespread.

A hotfix will probably solve it.

According to the patch release notes SLI should be running smoother in ROF!

2. SLI-related stutters were resolved (after NVidia responded to our requests and provided some specific details about their API)
Hopefully they'll 'respond' to the COD team. If SLI starts working for COD I foresee a trip to the graphics card shop!

Cheers!

Yes, this is what I mean. SLI/nVidea problems are fixed and ATI/Crosfire are not yet 100% fixed.

777 does not recommend SLI/Crossfire setup anyway IIRC.

I like the bump mapping of the clod landscape. It's the one advantage that it has over the curent build of RoF maps. It's in the works though, so they should compare pretty closely soon.
