Okay, I finished it. It's not very good. It's my first film ever really. I'm going to work harder on the next one. This was really just a test to see if I could do it. Apologies for the quality of the footage. I'm still working out how to convert without loss of quality, etc.

If this was indeed your first IL-2 / CloD the video, so it looks very promising, in particular, I liked the first begin scenes. Keep it up this great hobby.

You are on your way, Mate! The key to a great Flight Sim movie, of which there are relatively few, is that you must tell a Story. Bang-Bang Shoot'em-Up dogfighting gets BO-ring, quickly. You have a good start with this short video clip, although admittedly very basic. A "movie" must have a 'beginning' (you have the start of one here), a middle (crisis or conflict), and an 'Ending'...[the 'hero(es) win or lose or whatever you decide and show to the viewers...]

Yeah, the idea I had that kicked me off on this whole hobby of simfilming was mostly just trailer stuff, so I put it together like that. I'm planning my next one to have more of a narrative.

Glad to see you got something together BW_Wolverine.

What program/s did you end up editing/rendering/converting with? 360p is a bit low res.

I was using FRAPS recording to get the footage from CoD, then Xvid4PSP to convert the fraps footage into MP4, then importing to iMovie with no conversion, then I used iMovie for editing (and Garageband for the audio tweaking) plus iMovie's 'share to youtube' function to render/convert.

I'm hoping to improve the rendering next try.

Hi wolverine, I have to say the intro sequence before the planes was very accomplished and I really enjoyed the fact you used static shots and the ambient audio effects were perfectly suited.

The aircraft scenes would be, IMHO, lacking in the same quality, but as you mention this is your first film, they are pretty impressive first-steps!

Looking forward to future developments, cheers, MP
