What the other guys said is good advice.

In terms of gunnery now, prop wash is simulated. When flying directly behind another aircraft (especially a bigger one) you are flying through disturbed air in their wake, this has the effect of bouncing you around somewhat and makes gunnery harder.

Depending on relative size between aircraft this can be a big issue even today. For example, it's not unheard of in civil aviation for tower controllers to instruct small aircraft (like the local aeroclub's Cessna) hold for a while (5 minutes or more) before giving them take-off clearance, especially if the previous aircraft to take off was a big jet airliner.

Taking off in a small plane directly after an airliner can even be a cause of accident, because the disturbance in the air can cause all sorts of unpredictable eddies and currents, updrafts/downdrafts and so on.

My stick is old and isnt the most precise anymore. so I dailed in some deadzones and it seems better,

I will try with the rudder trim, I was trying to trim my ailerons all the time.

glad to hear its not my hardware malfunctioning but that it is suppose to happen

IT was a sensitivity issue, once I turned them down to about 0.20.. the planes became flyable

I roll, too

Well, and I am a newbie too but willing to learn to fly. However, to you set sensitivity to axes in SST (I got a X52 Pro) or ingame?

PS:
Besides, does SST always override ingame settings?

thanks

Default Roll / prop pitch

Hi all,

I've only tried this with the Bf 109's but setting the proppitch so that the engine runs at about 2000 rpm pretty much cancels out the roll. With good elevator trim I was able to fly the Bf 109 hands off for extended periods.

When in a dogfight the torgue induced roll isn't a big deal, since you're pitching and rolling all over the place, but during cruise torque induced roll can be a big strain on your wrist. Reducing the te prop pitch en thereby the RPM but not your speed is big help.

I hope this is helpfull for you guys. I haven't tried it with the Spit or Hurricane yet. Though the RPM will probably be different, the principle should be the same I guess.

I also had the saitek cyborg evo stisk. It dont work well with IL2, not cod ore the old IL2.
There is a lot of complains aboth the saitek cyborg evo on the old forum and on the net. Have had a lot of discusions with Saitch but they did not admitt anything. There is also some info on their home site abouth saitek cyborg evo not working well with the IL2 series. I think there must be a software missfunction on this product.
Ther is also a lot of info on the net on how to fix the problem , but none of them are working and not worth to try.
I bought me a new stick V5 from saitech and that is exelent and makes no problems at all. I still believe in Saitch, everyboddy can do a miss no an then.

Default stick doesnt center propely

my saitek cyborg evo doesnt center proply in il-2 COD.
What happen is if i take off and not touching airelons left or right its ok but as soon as i move the stick to the right possition it doesnt come back to proper center possition. I have to move it all the way left to be able to center proply. It happens only with IL-2 COD - never happend in other flight sim (dcs, ED, fsx, condor etc.) I tried to assign airelon trim to my saitek but never works. Does Hurricane have airelon trim anyway ? PLEASE HELP cause its realy annoying (plane keeps rotateing right all the time until i make hard left turn.

I pluged off my saitek stick and it happens with keybord too so its not my stick.
i uploading print screen to show you how big is the difference.
