World of CloD, my man! Been playing WOT and it got me thinking about how much more fun it would have been as a single player game and if there was any campaigns... and preferably in the air

Oleg didn't know much about how to make a good "game". Nor does Luthier apparently.
Oleg always thought if he just got the numbers right, the rest would somehow fall into place. I was dismayed about a year ago when in an interview at SimHQ, he was asked if he played Il-2 or the then SoW much. He said no, he had beta testers to do it for him... Luthier asked what elements of gameplay would truly amaze us. More than 20pages of suggestions were given. Some joked about a love triangle. We got a cancelled Dgen and Spitgirl. "Trust me" Luthier said, "You guys are going to love it!" Maddox Games badly needs a creative director. |

Jip, does make sense now if you see the state of the sim. In real life, I only get micro stutters like that when I had Mexican food… Can anyone still remember Wing Commander 3? Very atmospheric and great all-round quality. In my opinion, that's how you make a game... |

That and a project manager that actually knows his job.

Quite right. Good intentions are not enough.

I personally think this is what is lacking and has been for a while, they seem to focus on trivial things while letting required stuff drop off the radar.

Ja, Pacific Storm , not so great, but imagine the FM in CloD and fiddling with say engine size which might have an impact on speed, manoeuvrability , dive and climb speeds and the amount of space there is left for other equipment in the plane etc... o and cost.
Well, actually, I always wondered why they didn't fit the 109's with bigger fuel tanks in the internal fuselage of the plane and made a long range version of the fighter or fitted it with laminar flow wings. It would be great to figure out the trade-offs myself whilst flying the plane in CloD. I also would in the current version of the game have my 109 rather fitted with 4 machine guns instead of the 2 20mm’s, but I want the trade-off in weight also to be reflected in the flight dynamics of the plane. That’s where I’m going with the upgrade my plane part of the suggestion… |

If you really think that 2 MG17 with 500 rounds each are lighter the 2 MGFF with 60 rounds, think again.
