One of the most interesting features of this aircraft in my humble opinion was its defensive weaponry. Among ordinary fuselage gun turrets it also sported two wing mounted (atop outer engine nacelles), remotely controlled turrets, each equipped with two heavy machineguns. Such a setup provided an aircraft with formidable backward directed firepower and a large, unobstructed field of fire. Biggest drawback was unability of the crew to un-jam guns.

Not sure, but might very well be.
Anyway, the 102mm cannon was the largest calibre gun actually fired from a flying aircraft in WW2. |
