sound card?

do I need a sound card to get rid of static or clicking type sound, I've tried different sound setups but it's still there, I can make it worse but not much better, using gtx 560 ti 1 gb for sound, anyone using sound card and getting awesome crisp sound without any kind of sound stutter?
