Any idea why the game crashes at start? I deleted my previous versions, 1.6 and 1.7 install folders, ran 1.8 instalation through mounted image, it instaled fine I guess, but the game now crashes when I want to start a new game (havent tried loading saved games, since I deleted everything). Was the Unofficial patch applied through the instalation itself?

It did if you chose that option with the installer, which you probably didn't and that's why you get the CtD. Sorry.

And before you complain about the need to select the English patch I need to point out the need for this system, otherwise we couldn't add the option for the German patch and GCP.

Hi I tried searching and have had no luck, how do I take over cities? Also how do I get the weapons master in Olvega to sell stuff to me? And finally why do the traders sell weapons they don't have ammo to, the trader got the Mosin–Nagant rifle, carbine and sniper but he doesn't sell the ammo.

After you killed all guards and soldiers talk to the mayor.

By doing missions for the rebels. Once you done enough, don't remember when exactly, he'll start selling you stuff.

Try killing a few bandits out in the forbidden zone, they carry the needed ammo at early CGL's. It's meant to be this way, it balances the game.

Thanks for the quick answers, ended up having to start over, turns out I didn't complete the convoy attack mission properly (I think the trader ended up dieing before I could talk to him from his wounds after the battle so I just continued to go around killing bandits)

So in regards to the weapon master if I decide to work for myself I won't be able to use him?

I meant the last question more specifically for that gun, it doesn't have a magazine meaning any ammo you get is from killing a bandit sniper before he uses all the ammo and he doesn't carry extra ammo on him, I was lucky and ended up getting 4 bullets because I shot the guy in the head before he could aim at me.

Installing was a breeze this time, and I like the changes in 1.8 so far, great work!

Yup, but you still have Rico and the other trader in Cali-Cantinos that sells most of the stuff those traders sell. And you'll also have access to Jim-Bob for the truly awesome and rare weapons, he's my go to guy

I usually get 2 sniper rifles when fighting bandits, and sometimes they drop a box with 20 rounds as well. But in those early stages I mostly use SMG's and shotties. The snipers in random encounters have a tendency to wander the map, and I usually stumble upon and killing them first. Since my guys draws a lot faster then them they rarely get the chance to waste a shot at me.

hello,

I just downloaded the game and this (good looking) mod. In the first posts in this topic, there are alot of work with the patches etc. step by step. Does the installer for 1.8 handle all that, or there some work on my end (like remembering to install a specific patch, before this mod)?

thanks

EDIT: And I have to click to install the English patch, right?
