robtek, thanks a million for all the advice! - I am a true amateur when it comes to CEM so this is all very helpful. I didn't know how to deal with ata at all! Is it the same as boost on the Brit planes? OK, the handpump is just for emergencies? Should I have used it later, when the gear didn't come down?

Yes Freycinet,y you have it right, the handpump is only for the ldg-gear.
During flight one should monitor the temps and regulate the coolers accordingly. 90°C for the water and around 60°C for the oil is right. If one is economy-cruising (pp around 9:30, speed 300 km/h) it might be necessary to close the oil-cooler completely, as the oil-temp might go below 40°C causing engine trouble when suddenly power is needed. cheers

I am beginning to think it is a miracle I even stayed in the air! - But I guess it is all about flying the plane optimally, which is also very important. Thanks again.
