Detonator selection does play a role, it's highly possible your bombs failed to detonate if you were too low.

I am assuming that the reason we have "profiles" for our controllers is to permit say a setup for the type of aircraft we we wish to use? Such as a default would be say a spitfire and we can create a profile for a bomber since you have more work to do like sighting / opening and closing doors / adjusting speeds and altitude within the sight? Is this correct?

I believe what I need to do is spend some time tonight working on an He-111 profile and getting keys set the way one would be comfortable with.

You can create as many profiles as you want, but currently the only way to switch between them is to manually load them from within the options.

Maybe in the future we'll be able to set which profile will be the default for each aircraft.

In any case, what you say is a matter of preference (for example, i prefer to have one profile for all aircraft so that i don't get confused) but it's definitely possible if you like to do things that way.
