Help with grey box/window

It's all explained in the manual, among other things. It might be a bit lacking on how to fly the planes but it does a pretty good job of talking you through the interface.

Go to (your games folder)\steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\manual

and you'll find PDF files containing the game manual.

TY Blackdog, I was aware of the manual. I guess I'm guilty of being to lazy to read it properly. (only made a very quick vertical read once)
