I think a realistic looking stick for the bf-109/Spitfire/Hurricane that fits current setups (Thrustmaster/CH, ect) would sell well, as Revi said though the extra buttons are needed for simming hatswitch ect. Goodluck and keep us informed on your progress.

I'd love some kinda "box" with trimwheels and throttle, radiator, mix and pitchsticks that I can easily mount to my desktops left side.
That together with an authentic stick with ffb with perhaps a couple of buttons for fire, comm and quickzoom. There! Make one of those and you have atleast one customer. |

I built a little box for CEM and trim, I'd love a Spitfire stick to go with it and only the fire button would be needed for me. The problem with making these things as it's very labour intensive when comparing to a injection moulded piece of...
Unfortunately for most people that will make the cost prohibative. There was a company making proper spitfire simulator controls but I think the chap in charge passed away. They were very expensive though. ![]() I don't claim it's realistic... just better than a keyboard. |

That Tarmac aces kit looks
But it is , and quite deservedly very expensive. On the other hand if this chap can make a nice spitfire hoop stick attachment that will fit on my MSFF2 I'd be sure to buy it, as I'm sure would a lot of other people. |

I don´t want to call 570 Euros VERY expensive, because the numbers they produce are, compared to the industry, very small.
Remove the VAT and they get about 475 Euro for a stick/base. |

I'm not implying they are not worth the money. I have already made the point that constructing this kind of thing is labor intensive and a cottage industry. You do end up with a product of very high quality. The problem is how many of the simmers here can justify that kind of money on a stick without getting brutally beaten by the wife on its arrival?
Also if you had 470 euros laying about most people would benefit more from upgrading their graphics card rather than their joystick. Of course for the select few this is an excellent product, and those who are single or have very understanding wife's are sure to buy it. I know I would... How about a standard base with connectors that allow you to interchange different control columns? That could be a bit more initial planning and engineering but offer a lot of value to a simmer that likes to fly more than one plane.
Just plug in and connect different control columns. |
