Flight sims have always been harder on hardware than anything else.

Im running dual 590s (quad SLI) .. most games I play are pegged at 60 (fraps limit with V sync)..

But even with one video core on CLOD, Im still getting acceptable frame rates with no stutters. (30 to 50... ground/building stuff on med, aircraft stuff on HIGH)
(Rise of Flight, with graphics turned down, runs about 45fps on a single core.. crazy it wont support SLI)

If you want eye candy in a flight sim, you've got to shell out for the hardware.
Old IL2 was the same way. My friends and I updated our rigs several times to keep things running on high.

If your hardware aint up to snuff.. then drop your settings significantly.

A lot of bugs left to squash.. yep. specially with some FMB stuff.. roads..column action... But Im happy.
rather be flying and learning the new stuff.. the aircraft handling, new engine management, the scripting... etc than sitting on my hands waiting.

Well I am obviously a masochist I come back to this every few days for one or 2 crashes, some of which require a computer reboot as the screen just blacks out and locks up.
So I bit the bullet and selected medium for most settings.
Same old same old, clunky over land and not at all enjoyable to play. Sigh, back to RoF again.

During the wait I keep on practicing my TO and landings and learning to know the planes solo offline.
Then when we mp is fixed and Luthier patch that will give me double the frames is released I'll be a friggin killing machine...or will atleast know how to get to the fight in an orderly fashion.
