I'd rather they take their time and QA this one first. BoP should have never made it to market with some of the glaring flaws it had (no brakes with stick, HUUUGE deadzone with Xbox stick, P-51 performance, no credit for MP kills, sloppy MP menus, etc.)

And before you flame me, remember, you PS3 guys got a patch -- we Xbox players did not. If we had, I'd still be playing regularly. As it is, it was just too frustrating. I switched to IL-2 1946 on PC and had a blast.

With you on this one. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise the game won't make it prior to Christmas, with that pressure gone Gaijin/Konami should be able to take the time that's needed to get it right from the start. Title updates on consoles are very expensive.

Agreed. Not to mention BoS would get swamped by the big games that come out at Christmas time. They don't want to be competeing against Battlefield 3for example. Idealy they will want to release on a week that nothing else comes out that way they get most media coverage and hopefully sales.

It makes more sense to get everything right from the get go. Better to wait and have a fab game than rush it out onto the market half assed.

I'm guessing that this has more to do with MW3 in November than anything else..

It would be suicidal to release it 4th quarter, MW3 is going to be huge. Best to let it settle first.

Remember MW2? That landed 2 months after IL-2 and took a lot of players away.

no brakes with stick, HUUUGE deadzone with Xbox stick

OK can somebody advise me please.

I currently play BOP using 360 pad but have been thinking of purchasing a flight stick for full experience.
So my questions are.
1. Do I wait for BOS so control issues can be resolved.
2. Will a new flight stick be avaliable with BOS lauch.

1. Your decision. You allready know the cons of the stick in BoP. The pros being better look around control in sim, Throttle and Rudder being available at the same time as looking around, and it being more realistic controls for an aircraft.

2. For xbox? unlikely.

I too use a pad for BoP, but I will probably get an Saitek AV8R -02 for Birds of Steel after some feed back from people and if everything is working right. I'm not going to switch before then 'cos I don't want to break it on BoP before BoS comes out. The AV8R having a reputation for having rather fragile plastic rudder twist. But its so much cheaper than the Saitek cyborg fly 9 which gets faulty wiring, and the second hand only very expensive Hori Ace Edge. So I think the AV8R is the one I will get.

Thanks for the reply, I think I will also wait for BOS to be released before going for flight stick.
How do flight sticks get passed the quality control phase when there is no way to brake, it's not exactly a minor control or is it that BOP's configuration is wrong?

It is the fault of the game, not the flightstick.

for Birds of Steel, i need, and i mean NEED stratigic bombing of germany, just a mission as an escort for B-17s. Also the Lancaster needs to be in there, as well as the Mosquito (if you havent been able to tell that im a sucker for heavy bombers). Also i'd like to see some better graphics and mechanics, like when you crash or when you bail out, but BoP really did a good job with crashing in water so that doesnt really need to be fixed. And some GOOD SERVERS that get patched when needed with some new game types. As for the pacific theater i cant say much other than to say im excited to see what they can do with it, but definatly some sensibly torpedo mechanics. thats about all i want and i REALLY hoping they do good with this game.
