Your right WOP never used the IL-2 game engine, but they did borrow aspects of IL-2's flight model and modified it. Gaijin used their own game and graphics engine.

I think for a console game the terrain detail is very impressive, I guess the PC version will have a lot more eye candy.

That looks all very nice but there is no mention of a PC version so pretty much kills my interest from there on in as there are no decent HOTAS options for the 360 or PS3.

the original post is off-topic, it's not IL-2 CloD related even.. not even close. Birds of steel doesn't even sound like anything that would fly
