I did not install any of the beta patches, so this is a straight up comparison between patch 1.00.1401 and this one.

General settings: 1900x1080, 2xAA, V-sync off, full screen mode on.

Positives

*Flying solo, the performance flying over London is GREATLY improved for me. Before, at rooftop level, I was getting between 12-15 fps with a fair amount of stutter.
Now, it's closer to 18-30 fps, with basically zero stutter. The stutter is so rare that it's basically gone. It is much smoother overall.
This is much better.
Over Caen, it is much the same...better fps and stutter almost nil.

*The 2D map is an improvement over the old one.

*The Hurricane now has a mirror.

Negatives

*AA is still only half working in my case. it doesn't matter if it's 2x or 8x, there are still jaggies present, and there is no noticeable difference between 2x and 8x.

*Comms not working. (Not sure if it was supposed to be with this patch)

*Game performance over industrial areas is still very poor.

Black Death Track (All settings on 'high' for uniformity)

Patch 1.00.1401

Min=1 Avg=32 Max=88

Now

Min=0 Avg=26 Max=71

This test was inconclusive as the track kept playing in widescreen mode with the new patch. Not sure why.

Overall imppressions

Performance over cities is much better...stutter is much reduced and fps is sometimes double in my case. THANK YOU.
With a decent quad core I'm sure performance will be better still...

The lack of proper AA is something of a sore point. I will try force AA through the drivers and see if it works.

Comms...please gentlemen, this is really something we need urgently.

Thank you for the patch...I still can't believe the huge difference flying over London.

The first thing I did after installing the latest patch was this flight around London and general idiocy. It works, and works good (enough for me)!

OK!

Entered JG-Oldies, chose my plane, ammo etc. Took off, shot down some low-flying 109 and RTB. Noticed nothing wrong apart from some trigger lag and a severe lack of players.

What should I be looking for in order to become terribly disappointed with this version?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, your video is very nice, but I think that you don't know what is fly fluid truth? It has stuttered and stoppages play in large quantities, so I reluctantly say that this Simulator needs a lot work even so that it works smooth...It is a shame but is the reality...I have a very powerful Pc, and sincerely well meets the highest requirements and do not work me correctly, and unlike other simulators and games work me perfectly with everything at the top...a shame...I hope to continue working hard to ensure that this happens to be fluid and stable without mumbling and run the antialiasing, because that order to make it a bit I have to put it in X 8crazy! luthier please continue working hard, I want to fly the Simulator to taste and...

You know of course is YOUTUBE pauses to buffer more VIDEO that it didn't appear that way in the game right????? You also notice that his view system is not TrackIR so its not going to look as seamless.. I saw no pauses in the portion of the video I watched.. only buffering from Youtube as the video loaded

True, it's not perfect. I never claimed it to be.
Notice my hardware (which is nowhere near yours I suppose), and notice the settings (and consider there's also video recording going on). Are you seriously expecting better performance? If so- there's your problem.
Right now nothing (apart from my skill) prevents me from sticking to my opponent's six, even with this huge city around us, and this is good enough.

Maybe I'm just lucky, maybe I spent a couple hours testing settings and reading advice on these forums, but I can fly in this simulator. Now all I need is the missing content and just need to wait patiently for that.
