Logitech g940 issues

Do you recommend setting up the logitech profiler software first ? or just configuring in the game ?
Also i know how to delete the keys in control menu not sure how to select joystick...
This seems over complicated never had any issues before on any other sim in all my years !

I set up all the in-game controls first, then went into profiler to target the executables for the games, then edited the spring tension and force feedback options for each game, because needs are very different for each game.
