Precision bombing my arse, bombadiers from the period have admitted it was impossible even with the fabled Norden sight, they did what every other bombadier did, watched the lead plane and dropped on their mark.
Get of your high horse fella and accept that the Good old U.S of A is just another country, no better and possibly no worse than any other. As for your comments about the British forces out in Afghanistan, totally uncalled for, as for Iraq, in Gulf II we lost more troops to your 'precision' weapons (shoot first then deny it or refuse to allow the pilot to answer questions, even if the radio/video is in the public domain) than we did to the Iraqi's. Better to have a yank in front than behind or above.

BTW: thanks to your great-grandfather for helping us, getting rid of Hitler 65 years ago. You were the free world back than. But since then the rest of the world kept up and in quite some parts overtook you. Time to update your view of the world. Look how East Europe changed since the end of the cold war. It is simply astonishing. Then compare it with the change in the US. I am not talking about wars here. But stuff like SWIFT, software patents, anti-pirating lawsuits and so on really shattered my hopes for the at least still a bit free world. so long Mathias P.S.: Who was asking lately for help with some totalitarians? And looking at Gitmo and DHS, I fear in a few decades there will be only one totalitarian regime left. (couldn't help that, sry) Last edited by Nobody96; 05-13-2011 at 02:58 PM. |

It was my grandfather actually, though he was a stationed in the Pacific with a B-29 bomber wing. He was the bombardier on the back-up flight for the Enola Gay mission actually, kinda neat. The rest of the world kept up? LOL! I wont even begin to touch that one...I would need pages. |
