An engine (any for that matter) is balanced either internally or externally and the only way it starts shaking (before mechanical damage) is if a cylinder starts misfiring. You'd be surprised how long an over heated engine can run on all cylinders smoothly. Anyhow, depending on the engine type, usually a blown head gasket, burnt valve etc (you lose cylinder pressure/compression/combustion is going where it's not supposed to) will the balance or in terms of IL2 "shaking" occur. If you overheat it long enough it could simply lock up completely due to friction, even before a misfire occurs and maintain a relatively smooth balance. I've built quite a few engines (I'm a gear head). Hope that clears it up for you. |

Back from the first testing I ve got the following to say:
At first, game is still running ok (no massive problems noticed so far). With a screenresolution of 1920x1080 and all detailsettings to medium (grass off, all other things on) I flew over london. There is no massive framedrop, but it is not running smooth "as silk" looks like litte micro stuttering. As I have got no AMD/ATI graphics card, I ve no graphical issues, running @fullscreen mode. Then I went to MP. Seems like there are some performance issues now. I noticed the game stutters, when a new message in the chat window appears. Also it is stuttering from time to time (for no considerable reason...) As some of the other posters mentioned, the radio is still not working, which I found annoying... please fix it ![]() Will test again in the evening. Yep, that's why what I said included this - (before mechanical damage occurs) as a valve is part of the mechanical workings of an engine.
