Best Ati drivers to get

Heya Doc, cool to see you got your new system together

I use the Catalyst 11.4 preview drivers myself and they work great for me so far. Only prob is the three blue lines bug.

About overclocking. I have done mine in the CCC (performance and then you can start overclocking there) You could also use an app called Smartdoctor if I remember correctly.

I didn´t overclock my card that much so for me CCC is fine. (915 MHZ base clock, 1425 mhz memory, 0% extra voltage, manual fan control on 35%)

Each card is different though so you should just tweak a bit and see what is stable for you.


Anyway, have fun with your new card and let me know if you get the three blue lines on the horizon thingie, I´m interested to know if all hd6970 users suffer from it.

one qestion, in graphics overdrive, why cant i select anything?
enable amd overdrive is ticked, but greyed out?
and enable manual fan control is greyed out?

There is a lock button above the greyed out options. Unlock it first, then the options will be enabled.

just tested them out, not quite maxed out on my settings yet, but well happy
But im still getting the annoying black lines, the same black lines i was getting when i was using nvidia card
here http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=21743 these are the nvidia lines, but are the same using ati?
Stumped on that?

with my old ati radeon hd3870 512 mb, it will probably not even run the sim even on low video settings,, but if I try.. does anyone else have this card, and if so, what drivers do you use?

I fly IL-2 1946 with mods, Black Shark, and also played the Stalker series of sims..
but I stayed with Catalyst 10.9. All is well with that version... but with this old video card,, I am hesitant to try anything newer...

I also use a 2.93 ghz duo2core cpu, Winxp x32,
MSI P7N SLI NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI Socket 775 ATX Motherboard w/Audio, LAN & RAID
2 gb ddr2 ram

Doc..try Land shading on more than low or medium. Also you can test that you set in CCC Anisotropic filtering to 8x. I use the 10.3's..waiting for the official 10.4's
