For the time being you can force it with D3Doverrider, which is a tool in rivatuner. Hope it will be implemented later.

I downloaded win zip and 7 zip and neither could unzip this. I did exactly as the directions said, download patch (I saved it to a download file), unzipped and selected unzip location exactly where they said and this is what i get:
! C:\Users\Derek\Downloads\Games\Cliffs of Dover\IL2COD_14072.rar: CRC failed in parts\core\core.dll. The file is corrupt ! C:\Users\Derek\Downloads\Games\Cliffs of Dover\IL2COD_14072.rar: Unexpected end of archive I've downloaded the patch twice now and with no change. |

Hello SQB, I just extracted the whole contents to steam/steamapps/common/cod and it worked fine, just say yes when windows asks you to overwrite, hope this helps.

Better performance on Q9540 @3ghz, GTX570 and 8Gb DDR2 over land and sea.
Only one issue that I think is patch related- shadows cast by trees are now flickering. I would ask the devs to consider (at some stage) incorporating a 'real guages' setting in difficulty options so users can select the old pnumatic guages for those planes that were equiped with them. Also if engines were cutting out or spluttering at a specific -g could we have the option to fly with those characteristics ? I appreciate that you can't please all the people all of the time and it is case of finding a happy balance but there are a lot of people who appreciate authenticity and as it was represented in the game previously it would be a great shame to see it lost. Good patch- thanks. |

Turns out that was accidentally the RU version, so I went from the beginning with my backup and downloaded the regular version. But then I get "unexpect end of archive" ninja'd in by the guy who posted before me. I'm gonna try the rapidshare/megaupload locations but this is weird and annoying |

Magnificent progress guys, hats off to you!
Have finally been able to fly my first multiplayer games with the new Beta and it works great. 100FPS+ over water and 50-70FPS over land. Much harder to shoot down planes than 1946! The new Damage Hit Point model will be welcome for the score keepers! Side effect of this is that it will finally stop or at least significantly reduce the kill stealing arguments! All settings on high with Grass, Shadows Roads and unlimited buildings with 8xAA and NOSSAO (AA only seams to work on some Aircraft surfaces and the cockpit view) Cant wait to see what's possible with crossfire/sli! Feature or instruction request: 1. I find the window interface with Multiplayer while flying a bit clunky compared to 1946. Is there anyway to save window positions and sizes. The Map is always way too small and i would like a default chat box like the old game too so I don't have to keep creating the window. 2. Cockpit zoom - increment and decrement keys would be good and if possible map to axis/slider! The current hold a key and move the mouse option is really clumsy! Building Texture Bug: Sometimes the building textures don't seem to load properly and I don't have all buildings, just low res roof texture on the ground. Cant seem to replicate it consistently but It happens when changing building settings I think. Only rectified after restarting game and changing building settings again. Tried cleaning cache and that didnt seem to help either. Launcher Crash: When switching enemy or friendly external view more than 2-3 times. Spec i7 950 @ 4.6Ghz 6GB Ram @ 2000Mhz 4 x 5870 @ 1000/1300 2 x 128GB SSD Raid 0 Win 7 Ult 64bit 1920x1080 Resolution Last edited by FS~Phat; 04-18-2011 at 04:25 AM. |

so after trying the beta patch now several times:
better fps and fewer stutters!big improvement in that!except when i look at industrial buildings the stutters are very apparent.i think even more than before the patch.and fps drops dramatically too. although i assume that kekedys mod made more improvement on my rig considering the fps, without loosing eyecandy. water splashes are back!no fps loss anymore even if you are very close to them.very nice! explosions when plane crashes into ground looks different now(at least i think) i think the black smoke is gone during the explosion.i dont know which kind of explosion i prefer.may a combination of both. i dont like the fact that its now less realistic, considering the negative g behaviour.and also the steady compasses and so on.please give us the realism back. ai behaves even more strange than before the patch. beaufighters make rolls like f16s.in fact all ai planes are now capable to do crazy manouvers. i have now much more game crashes. systemspecs: -Mainboard S1156 INTEL DH55TC,Micro-ATX,bulk -Prozessor INTEL Core i5-650,3,2GHz,LGA1156,Dual-Core,Boxed -2x 2GB DDR3 RAM,1333MHz,CL9,KINGSTON ValueRAM -PCI-E 2.1 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD5570,Lite Retail,Low Profile -Windows 7Home Premium 64Bit |
