Same problem here, not only in quick missions though.

Lol - typical MD answer
"Hey dad, It hurts when I lift my left arm like this..." "Then stop doing it?" It's not bad advice |

I have found a way to reproduce the crashes. I mean the "Launcher.exe stopped working" error. I hope this helps the devs to fix it soon.
1. Enter the game 2. Select Quick Mission 3. Select the "Air duel - Low altitude" mission with the default planes 4. Approach the coast of England 5. Keep pressing Ctrl + F2 to switch between enemy planes 6. Alternatively pressing Ctrl + F2 will show the radar towers, too, but floating in the middle of nowhere, in the water. This is due probably to not having loaded textures yet. If you press Ctrl + F2 when in this state the "Launcher.exe stopped working" error will launch Regards, |

i just downloaded and installed the patch but on the menu screen it keeps saying i'm still in version 1.00.13954. What did i do wrong?
I patched it like this.. took the RAR.file and choose option to unrar in steam then it asks to overwrite files and i said yes. that is all it installed a new "parts" Folder in STEAM. (still got the old one aswell on my dektopas a back-up) So why is my Update not showing me version 1.00.14072 ?? i did noticed less stutters but i also see the ambulances on the airfield driving about 20x faster as normal and ober and ober gain on the same piece of road as if the are in a loop. Just did a comparison between the old patch and the new one.
Short & sweet: Over sea, the FPS has increased from an average of about 45 (patch 13954) to 75 (patch 14072). Free flight over London shows an increase in FPS from 45 (patch 13954) to about 55 (patch 14072). Stutters have decreased noticably: Moderate to Low stuttering over sea has decreased to undetectable. Stutters over London have decreased from Severe to Low Game settings were: Resolution 1280x1024, 75Hz / Anti-Aliasing: 8x /Anti-Epilepsy Filter: Off Model Detail, Land Detail, Visual Effects, Damage Decals, Building Amount: Medium Building Detail, Land Shading: Low Grass, Shadows: Off / Roads: On My rig: CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T, 3.2 GHz (I set the game to use 6 cores) RAM: 8 GB DDR3 GPU: Radeon HD6970 2GB OS: Windows 7 64-bit With all in-game video settings maxed-out I get an average FPS of around 25-30. Stutters remain low; this last patch really has improved playability enormeously. Chapeau to the developers! |

It is more FPS but some very little stutters now, what maybe are not reminded before because of bad FPS. Microstutters still available, but its now playable.
