How the hell do you install this to get it working

To install, first install the SFSMOD v1.1 (or newer) from:
http://www.kegetys.net/misc ive done that
and make sure it is working. Then, extract this archive to
the IL2COD directory (so you get the "nossao" dir under the game
directory). Finally use -mod=nossao commandline parameter to
enable the mod for launcher.exe.

That is the worst install guide ever
How about telling us how to enable -mod=nossao commandline parameter

S!

Doc, the noSSAO thing has a readme where it is explained. Got it to work within minutes. Just make sure to make a backup of the launcher.config first. Rest is basically copy/paste.

Also tested the no mipmap thing. First time a COMPLETELY stutter free gaming experience! Sure as Kegetys stated the shimmer is there, but do I mind if the stutter is gone? NO! I can now run CoD 1920x1200 MAXED out with no stutter and very nice FPS

YOu need to d/l not only the kegetys file, but d/l the nasao and lowtex zips.

the zips you extract to the install directory so you have two new folders nassao and lowtex.

I'm sure the guide was straight forward.

Goto steam library, right-click CoD and select properties, select "set launce options" and write -mod=nossao -mod=lowtex.

At least should give an idea to Luthier & Team what to look into Make SSAO an option in GUI + heavy optimization in mipmaps and those texture sizes.

Hello,

The mimapmod cause a launcher.exe crash during the mission loading.

Other mods work great and I have a noticeable improvement, game is playable now, thanks.

Doc, easiest to set the parameters is to open Steam -> Library -> Right click IL-2 Cliffs of Dover -> Properties. There in General is a box Set Launch options. Just paste the -mod=nossao there and press OK. If want all three, then just add them there and good to go.
