Seems like there's a few of us for whom the patch has created crash and/or CTD problems.

My PC just shuts itself down during the game and then reboots quite frequently now (post-patch).

I'm hoping that someone out there will be able to able to help us.

BTW have you tried all of the suggestions from near the start of this thread? Just a thought given how old the thread is now - don't wish to insult your intelligence.

I have tried everything. Currently downloading to re-install the game for another attempt.

I have also turned my themes in Windows to basic instead of Aero, no change.
