So what are the differences between the 1156 and 1155 boards, other than the not future proof issue for 1156? Is the 2500k miles ahead of the 760 say?

Same BS like AM3 - both sockets lasted only 2 years.

To me, this means whenever you acquire a new mobo, you'll have to jump for the latest.
And the leaked 'dozer performance looks promising.
