As far as my personal taste goes fighters should look brutish, not elegant and pretty, which makes the 190 the best looking fighter of the war for me. The P-47 takes second place for similar reasons and then i also like the sight of bombed-up Hurricane IICs, mosquitoes, luftwaffe nightfighters and so on.

No offense to the fans of Ponys and Spitfires, it's just that compared to the "uglier" and beefier planes they look a bit "girly" for lack of a better word: "Oooh, don't touch me, i'm single-engined, liquid cooled and break easily"
