I went from this

After installing the beta patch, launcher.exe now crashes immediately when I try to start the game. I don't even get to the splash page. When installing the patch, I was prompted to overwrite my existing files so the patch files were installed to the correct path.

I put in the patch and the game would not start.
took out the patch and the game worked better then it did before the patch.

Intel core Duo E8600 @ 3.33GHz
3.00GB OF RAM.
Video card GTX 470
MOBO- Gigabyte GA-EP45_UD3P
Windows XP Pro 32bit.

I was not able to start the missions in 1280x1024 before I put in and then took out the patch now it will.

I have the 470 set at use my preference emphasizing- Quality.

No forest and grass (sure wish I could in XP) all others set at High but building amount set at low.

flying in Aerial battle-Dover, and flyable. fps up and down.

Dont know why the patch will not work. any Ideas ? UK version of CoD.

Also the sounds work better not fading in and out. So far.

This is flying off line. If that matters.

Another small problem: I played the single mission Bomber Intercept - Ships, we chased off the bombers and once the flight home commenced I switched to AI and increased sim speed. The game froze, but with audio and I could still look around and change views. I tried to un-pause, decrease speed, esc and return but nothing would get it going again.

I can´t do a accurate test because I'm under the recommended specifications due to my 2GB of RAM (still waiting my 4GB upgrade)

- Fly over terrain is better now, there less shutter and is more stable, but have a performance cost.

Before the patch the shutter was terrible but the fps was good, now the shutter are gone but the performance is lower.

Hi All

Please put at least some system specs when posting in this thread and keep it to only reporting as Luthier has asked you to in his OP

That’s what this beta patch is – a quick way to see if it does what it should without doing something it shouldn’t.

And the most important note. If you notice REDUCED performance, crashes, or any kind of other crippling issues, it is extremely important you post your system specs including your version of Windows. That's the only way we can troubleshoot your problem and make sure it disappears by tomorrow!

Any more rubbish off topic or arguing in here earns you a holiday from the forum.

Hi!

For me, the biggest difference with the patch was the fixing of the mismatched physical model/visual model gunfire causing the guns to go everywhere Made the dogfights much more ammunition-economic

I must say I notice little to no improvement in FPS though. Perhaps a little bit when staring down into the instrument panel. This used to be quite laggy, not so much any more. Seems like micro stutters appear when closing in on a new 3D model LOD. Like when the game has to load 5 more detailed hurricanes as you approach them, I get microstutters.

Also when looking around fast at different angles at the ground. Seems like the engine is strained during loading of trees/buildings/Shadows and whatnot!

All in all, I have a very fluid game, but the microstutters and cockpit FPS drop when looking into the instrument panel are still there. Patch did NOT break anything for me. Nvidia drivers 270.51

Specs are in my sig.

Pretty much exactly sums up my experience with the patch as well, although I would probably not use the word "micro" for the stutters I see, especially over land ... they can be pretty bad on my computer. I think the xfire and multi core patches are what will make the game really improve on my machine (hopefully).

Still thoroughly enjoying fights over the channel while i wait though!

My Specs:
i7 950 @ 3.66Ghz
6 Gig RAM @ 1600
ATI 5970
Win 7 64 bit
