You guys are talking of skinning. I am skinning too. Made quite some skins for ROF and now would love to make some for COD.

Could any of you tell me IF and if yes, where i can download the templates?
If not, has there yet been a statement from developerside as of when we will be given templates to make skins?

Thanks

Winger

Err. Il2 skins had 1024x1024 size if i am right. And i somewhere read that the COD skins are 2048x2048 in size. Also the UV map must be a diffrent one for the much more complex COD 3D-models?!

I hope so, Winger. The 109 in Il-2 did have its share of FUBAR mapping (junction of wings and fuselage, fuselage top, antenna pole etc).

ROF templates are good but have soome messed up errors too. i.e. the DVIIFs height stabilizer is at the wrong position. Also some portions of the mesh are just flipped at some planes Well, nobody is perfect.
Other than that i very much hope the COD templates have the same if not better quality like the ROF templates.

Hate to ask, but has anyone looked for a skin folder or template within the CoD directory yet?

The skins folder path is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\PaintSchemes

Only camouflage layers of 109s, 110, Spits, Hurris and Tiger Moth, 2048 x 2048 .jpg files.

Once in game, these files are compressed, resulting in a very pixellated look, especially on Bf 109s uppersurfaces
