I really don't understant why people preordered a download version.
If you bought it on the release date, would anything really change? Anyway, we'll get it when we get it, no real problem |

It blows my mind that nobody has told us when this game is coming out.
I'm not sure if anybody has a brain on the other end...but you might just want to let your customers know what's going on. |

I just don't see the advantage of pre-ordering either. It's not like you have to wait in a queue based on how early you threw your money at them.
More options for where to order from are available the closer to release date. If the CE was available here in Canada on the earliest release date I'd spend the extra money but since it looks like d/l will be easiest and fastest I'll likely wait for Steam unless they're delayed for weeks compared to another option. I don't know how everyone gets themselves so upset over the lack of promotion, videos or even release date. It's been 8 frikkin years folks so why microanalyze the why's and whatfors of a couple weeks. Then again it's been highly amusing watching everyone lose their minds. |

But if it requires steam they don't allow you to have multiple copies of the sim under one account. That'll mean a new email address for the account and a whole lot pain in the butt keeping track of things! Down loading patches for each installation and things like that. We never knew how good we had it! Cheers! |

Guys, have some perspective. This game was originally supposed to come out in 2006. That's five years ago. I was really excited too -- only a week left! -- so I was extremely disappointed, and yes, annoyed, that news of the delay came so close to the planned release date.
But at the same time: 1) After a five-year delay, does anyone want it rushed out with glitches, multiplayer infrastructure that still needs tweaking, or other issues? 2) After a 260-week delay, a delay of a few more weeks is only about 1% more. I'm quite certain 1C and Ubisoft have a good reason for delaying. They want you to part with your money as much as you want to part with it. But software can be unpredictable, and delays happen with almost every software product. Fact of life. Certainly, 1C and Ubisoft could have communicated this a LOT better. A short statement from someone in the company on the delay, and confirming new release dates in various territories, would do well in quelling the online vitriol. But to see this degenerate into personal attacks on Oleg's integrity is just embarassing. It perpetuates the flight sim gamer stereotype, and is the kind of behavior that sent many of the flight sim developers of the 90s/early 2000's into different careers, because they were tired of the immaturity of the community. (That's not hyperbole -- two Jane's developers told me about -death threats- they received.) It'll come out when it's ready. You may have to wait a few more weeks, but I'm sure you'll play it for years afterwards.* <Shatner>Get a life. It's just a flight sim.</shatner> * Unfortunately, given how rare it is to see new flight sims anymore, that's no exaggeration |
