some "official" TD Hs129 rpm recommendations ?

Unfortunately, there's a problem with the CEM in Il-2 with this plane. It's impossible to match the parameters given in this table. For instance, reducing power to 1.1 ATA makes it impossible to have RPMs above 2000. 2750 is the max RPMs available with full power and WEP!

i personally dont expecting that reallive datas are working with any plane in game.............means that you can fly a plane with a real live handbook and gets the estimated performance.

therefor i asked TD, at least one person should know wich limits he programmed in the IL2's Hs129.

so far i always kept the rpm as 2500 as max with 80% throtte to keep the engine in good condition.

but it seems this engine is just one more of this "long runners" in game. open the coolingflaps, give 110% throttle and the pitch at max....i had the engine running for over 40minutes now in a short test..........................

fly cannon attacks(dive fast, climb slow at full throttle), then come back and report.

i dont know from what heights you are starting your dives, but i have no proplems with the engine doing that at full throttle, full fine pitch on auto and cooler open.

anyway, this not beeing able to control the pitch like the other planes is a "Schnapsidee" IMHO.


but ok, il2 is gettting old , and for a more "proper" enginemanagement we most propably have to wait for SoW/BoB/CoC (or however it will be called )

Hs129 has a different prop pitch control. This had been well researched and is quite well displaying the real thing. It has an electric automatic controller, which prevents higher resolutions than 2750RPM. If you want to destroy your engine, use manual pitch.

If you toggle the auto prop pitch, you will have access to the higher rpms (>2750) with your prop pitch keys.

Are those pictures of the ZFR 3 A from a wartime manual?? If so, I think they constitute evidence that the telescopic gunsight was installed on the Hs129B-3. Perhaps DT would consider adding it as an option for the Hs129B-3 in a future patch??

The only evidence (that I've seen) of the ZFR's use in combat is from Franz Oswald of 13.(Pz)/SG 9 who noted "that the ZFR 3B telescopic gunsight made target acquisition difficult." (Quote taken from Martin Pegg's Hs 129 book).

How that applies to the entire production run of the B-3, I don't know.
