One contributing factor is that the distant trees aren't casting shadows.

Am curious to know how/why this particular Hurricane (the one with the small pilot) was chosen. The real Hurricane s/n L1833 came to a sad end on 3 October 1940 when it collided with another Hurricane on a training flight. Both pilots were killed. The detail in design, right down to historically accurate serial nos. is impressive.

Lovely additional shot Luthier - point taken on pilot height too! I particularly love how the sea and sky blend into a non existent horizon. Very, very realistic and something we'll have to watch out for.
